CERTAINTY
(Assurance of our Salvation)

Can I be certain of my eternal destiny?
Would God keep me wondering whether or not I am saved?
Did I do enough works? What if my brother did more works then me?
There are groups that teach “perseverance” meaning the acquisition of eternal life ONLY comes after a life of perseverance. Arminian teaching allows for loss of salvation, loss of eternal life. Covenant and Roman Catholic teaching allows for new covenant/new birth through baptism of infants. This is commingled with works salvation or lordship salvation and added to the free gift of salvation.

We receive eternal life on the spot, never ending, and in response to believing in Jesus for His promise.

Instantaneously : just like our human life begins when we take our first breath, our eternal life begins when we believe in Jesus for His promise of eternal life.
Irrevocably : one can not lose something that is eternal.
John 10:28 "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand."
In response to believing: Jesus gives eternal life to anyone who is convinced of His promise.
